Leadership embodiment training, how was it?

It never ceases to amaze me, how happy I feel after a training or workshop environment and how brave I feel and how scared I feel and how connected I feel. It's not always comfortable and I don't enjoy finding out things about myself that I deem bad or negative and yet part of me yearns to discover the patterns that have been shading my view and way of functioning in the world.

One of the overriding feelings I have now is the sense of support. Support because some of the exercises were about support, because of the support and non-judgement from the teacher Paul King, a patient, observant and insightful man, because of the support from the group and from all the people, dead or living, real or fictional who each of us called in. And how wonderful that is to have people support you, see potential in you and want that potential to be actualized with no judgements as they watch you see your shit, move it out of the way (or start the process) so that you can go forward. It really is a buoyant feeling for me. And of course it is my responsibility to find out my strengths, what works for me and how to use that to change what hasn’t been working.

The first morning started with learning some centring and inclusive techniques and from there like any of the embodied trainings or workshops that I have done so far we partnered up to practice some relational exercises. First without using the techniques and then using them to differentiate between the experiences. Then we would share. And so on. Most of the exercises had a theme of intention, support and leading or following and all the while we were learning new things about ourselves. The exercises got deeper as we moved on, as did the connections. And for me that’s always a lovely part of the process. And well now, sitting in the airport my intention is to write it all out, so I can remember it when life becomes normal again, bring it into my daily life and notice the changes.
